MMA at The Troxy

#eventcover

A late night working for Fightmedics at the Troxy in London.

Heavy rain, road closures and traffic failed to stop fighters and fans making it to London to see an excellent evening of MMA and Kick Boxing including several title fights and professional fighters.

Never a dull moment watching the skillful combatants combining several styles of fighting into three three minute bouts.

Looking ahead is a week of frontline shifts for the local ambulance service and some AED refreshers.

Beaconfest

#eventcover

As always an amazing weekend, weather could've dampened spirits but a little rain was overshadowed by an amazing sunset on Friday and fantastic music and people all weekend.

The organisers and volunteers do an outstanding job as do the team of medics looking after our temporary village for two days.

Highlights for me were Chilli Rage, UK Foofighters and the Crumble Van, mix and match fillings with flavoured crumble and homemade custard.

Thames Valley Air Ambulance Day 2

#eventcover

Today Lord Carrington opened up his gardens to the public to support Thames Valley Air Ambulance.

Lord Carrington has had an interesting and varied career, including Secretary General of NATO.

We've been lucky with the weather, threatening rain but only a couple of showers.

Looking ahead we've Beaconfest, third year and looking forward to it.

Thames Valley Air Ambulance

#eventcover

Today we supported Thames Valley Air Ambulance with medical cover at Farley Hall near Reading as part of their open garden season.

The owners of Farley Hall opened their splendid gardens to the public in support of the Air Ambulance.  Weather was a little hit and miss but everyone was rewarded as the helicopter landed and stayed a while.

We are providing event medical cover for the Air Ambulance next week at a venue near Bledlow, Buckinghamshire.

Horses, Hounds and Heroes

#eventcover

Absolutely amazing day covering The Horse Trusts open day.  With displays from the Royal Army Veterinary Corps, Metropolitan Police horse section, the Kings Troop Royal Horse Artillery, Thames Valley Police, Fire Brigade Rescue teams the list goes on.  The real stars are the horses.

The Horse Trust provides a well deserved retirement for police and military horses as well as providing care and shelter for welfare cases, The Horse Trust also supports education in equine science and care.  Being the world's oldest horse charity it's had plenty of practice.

Always a pleasure working with The Horse Trust, they had excellent weather and a great turnout.  A particular favourite of mine are the Chelsea Pensioners.

First Aid Training for Mum's and Dad's

#firstaidtraining

I would like to start with thanking Lorraine Sellwood for organising and allowing the use of her house and gardens to run a training course for Mum's and Dad's from her parenting group.

A short blip with the weather didn't detract from covering basic first aid for infants and children.  There was great feedback and everyone was happy to get involved.

The remainder of the week has been working A&E for the local ambulance service.  Looking ahead we have event cover at the Horse Trust and their open day, event cover at Beaconfest (tickets still available, visit their website it's a great weekend) and a first aid course for drivers.
