First Aid At Work

#firstaidatwork

Just completed a great course with staff members from Buckinghamshire County Council, this week I was working freelance for Salvus Consultancy who specialise in Health and Safety training for large organisations.

Final preparations for trip to Nepal, flying Friday and meeting group on Saturday for two week trip to Annapurna Base Camp.  Conditions look amazing, might need to pack a hat though.

April's Pet first aid course at Hearing Dogs for Deaf People is now filled and bookings for Junes already coming in.

We still have space on our May two day camp at Hearing Dogs, working with trainers, welfare staff and demo dogs to learn about training, agility and care of dogs.

Well, just getting up to start my last night shift of three working for a private ambulance company covering accident and emergencies in South Central Ambulance Service.

Shifts have been steady with a variety of jobs helping poorly people.

The next few weeks include a week off climbing and walking in Wales, followed by a First Aid at Work course and a trip to Nepal, trekking with a group from a school to Annapurna Base Camp working for VLM Adventure Consultants.

The Lull Before The Storm

#eventcover

Working tonight for an independent ambulance company providing medical cover for players at Chelsea FC.

Tonight finished with 30 minutes of extra time against Paris and a two all draw.

A scrappy game with dozens of fouls, the French supporters were in fine voice, celebrating the score particularly as they were a man down from the beginning.

Being part of the medical team allows for great access and the ability to soak up the atmosphere before 41000 fans turn up.

Off we go again

#emergencyfirstaidatwork

The week started with an EFAW course with Stokenchurch Medical Centre, followed by three night shifts for an independant ambulance company, covering South Central and a sneaky Chelsea in the middle working for the same independant ambulance company.

Mixed Marshal Arts in Kent

A mixed night of kick boxing and cage fighting working for Fight Medics in Kent.

Thirteen fights, including three title fights provided a night of entertainment and displays of skill and sportsmanship.

No serious injuries, a great night had by all.

End of another busy week

#eventcover

This has been a tiring week, four night shifts for ERS Medical covering South Central Ambulance Service, predominantly around Buckinghamshire and Berkshire.

Lastly tonight covering a kick boxing competition in London for Fight Medics, no serious injuries.

Next week holds further day shifts with ambulance service, a cage fight in Kent and plenty of paperwork.

Bookings for the holiday camp with Hearing Dog's continue to come in along with plenty of paediatric work.
