Beacon Festival

Well, what can you say. Damp weather would not deter the festival goers attending the second Beacon Festival.

A glorious Friday led to a damp Saturday, with rain showers, although as the last band took to the stage the weather cleared and the sunset and lit Beacon stole the show.

The bands were excellent, the Queen tribute who closed the festival were great.  Beacon festival attracts amazing people and their families, who all enjoy themselves and get in to the party spirit.

Beacon Festival is organised by local people for local people, Lins and her team work tirelessly to ensure everyone is safe and has fun.

We're already looking forward to next year.

Public AED's

Local people and businesses have raised the money and community interest in purchasing a public access defibrillator.  The grand opening was on Friday 19th June.

The defibrillator is outside Princes Risborough Fire Station, the code is held at ambulance control and can be used in a sudden cardiac arrest.

Also on display was the new Princes Risborough Community First Responders car, donated by Risborough Garage.

There was a very good turnout, with local councillors senior fire officers, SCAS and local police in attendance as well as supporters and members of the public.

Pet First Aid at Hearing Dogs for Deaf People

We have just completed a pet first aid course for a group comprising of professional groomers, a dog trainer and a keen dog owner thinking of a career change.

The facilities at Hearing Dogs for Deaf People are excellent, with a small course we used the original farmhouse which has amazing rooms looking out over a walled garden.

Our next pet course is in August, we have already taken bookings but places are still available.

Snowdon or Bust

It has been a great week with amazing sunsets, beautiful Sunday days (although the last day hung in the balance for a while) and really nice staff and kids from Dulwich Prep School.

Working for VLM Adventure Consultant's I have been taking groups up Snowdon via the Pyg Track and Miner's Track.  Everyone made it and appreciated the achievement of climbing the highest mountain in England and Wales, the cafe at the top was particularly popular.

The Horse Trust

Invenio Training provided medical cover for the Horse Trusts open day at the weekend.

Lots of activities and a chance to see around their amazing facilities attracted lots of people on Sunday.

It's always a pleasure to work with the horse trust, it is nice to be around such gentle giants who have retired from the police and military, and their work with horses in need of some TLC is very worth while.

Adventures in Snowdonia

The team from VLM Adventure Consultants and the schools have had a mixed bag of weather from rain, high winds to sunshine.

Everyone from St Paul's Cathedral School have joined in the climbing this week and enjoyed themselves on the crag, they have also been kayaking and gorge walking with their baptism to become Welsh a highlight.

The camping included a very windy night, we were pleasantly surprised when all the tents were still there in the morning.

Our trip up Snowdon was rewarded with views as far as the coast and surrounding mountain's, a long hard day but all the group were great.

Today was their last day, some team building activities first thing, sad goodbyes before a long drive to London.

First Aid Training Marsh Gibbon CE School

A return to the beautiful village of Marsh Gibbon and teachers from the school.

We completed the second part of the one day training course, covering bleeds, bumps and breaks among other things.

All the staff on the course feel more confident should they need to administer first aid, as playful kids attract a lot of bumps and bruises through play and exploration.

Final preparation for trip to Snowdonia working with VLM Adventure Consultants, St Paul's Cathedral School and Dulwich Prep for climbing, kayaking and walking in North Wales.
